Hi Everybody,
So I've got the first episode of my radio show ready to go, but since I skipped out on the Podcasting lesson at the Queen Street Commons, I'll have to get someone smarter than me to show me how to upload the file and wrap it in RSS magic so you all can hear it.
Meanwhile, since I'm the music guy, I should point you to a couple of things going on this week in Charlottetown:
Close to the Coast - Week-long music festival going on at Baba's Lounge (above Cedars on University Ave.) Tonight they'll have Al Tuck, Saddle River, Out From Under. Thursday is the country-tinged night, it seems. Tomorrow, they'll have Officer Girl, Death by Nostalgia, Pat Deighan and the Orb Weavers (Sandbar Samples), In Flight Safety. So Friday is the rock lineup. Then on Saturday there's The Robots, The Tragedies, Two Hours Traffic (Sandbar Samples). The Saturday bands have more of a punk rock edge to them. The Tragedies are excellent, I liked them so much the first time I saw them that I ended up carrying their extremely heavy keyboard up Queen St. to where they were crashing for the night for them.
Also Slowcoaster are playing at Brennan's tonight. They're the biggest jam rock band in the Maritimes right now, definitely a good time. You'll probably end up dancing if you go see them.
So stay tuned for my first foray into podcasting as soon as I figure out the back-end process.

Freelancing is another way to keep your creative career in demand. The greatest benefits of using creative freelancers are: freelancers provide access to skills that didn't exist internally (34 % of executives said that) and freelancers help avoid overstaffing followed by layoffs (20 % of executives noted that). In this erratic economy, you may earn more by diversifying your skills into a range of different jobs.
In this inconsistent economy, popular jobs may see more competition. Hiring managers may expect applicants to be able to start on the first day with a strong set of skills.
Good luck!
