It's been repeated many times that without the unifying voice of the CBC Canada would be much more regionalized than it already is.

Although perhaps by networked nature of the CMG web-based media efforts we will get to hear voices from around the country in a more authentic way than the packaged 'hey let's put on some celtic music and call it a maritimes show' attempts at regional programming that the CBC comes up with.
