Here is the link to this page - Here are 2 revolutions.
The first one is that soon 3D printers will be cheap enough for most homes. They will be what PC's were 20 years ago when I bought my son a PC from Future Shop. From this will come the revolution in manufacturing that we now see in media. Soon anything will be makable at home. We will move from mass production to mass customization with all the changes that that will entail.
You may have seen that too in this image.
Did you see the second revolution?
He raised nearly a million dollars from a community funding site - Kickstarter. This is also the future of finance. Just as we don't need a newspaper or a publisher, we will not need centralized institutions like banks to finance what we need to fund our work.
My pal Patrick Ledwell just raised the funds he needs to in a similar system - Indiegogo - to fund a small publishing project.
It seems inevitable that the institutions that ruled our world will be disintermediated like this. Look what is happening in education - Now Khan Academy - next Text Books etc.
I am talking with some people who are going to do this to how we buy our food too - watch this space!
