Rusty (Chocolate) and his devoted friend Jackson (Black) are Hilary's rescue dogs.
My boy Jay is also a rescue dog.
Hilary and I have been talking about the special relationship that develops with a rescue dog. It does not seem to be just the human either. The bond back from the dog is very strong.
In this time of economic worry, the shelters are full of Rustys and Jays.

Next to our place is a huge hay field with an old half mile Horse training track that I mow. Here is Mildred on the home stretch heading for home - in the distance the Tree House and the Barn.
Twice a day at least in the summer, the dogs and I get our exercise here. In about a week the hay will be ready.

Mildred has been mouse hunting in the snow a lot recently and I suspect that she has been quite successful.
