The Rural Life - My Meditation Tool

It has been very dry and windy recently - so yesterday I did my last mow of the season.

The Clock says that I have been siting on my Deere for 56 hours this summer. That is 9 6 hour days!

So for about 9 work days in the last 3 months I have been moving around our property fixed to my Deere. That's a lot of time to be with my thoughts.

Joseph Campbell was asked by a student what he did for meditation - his reply? "I underline Books"

In truth then my reply would be - "I mow"

There's Green and then there is GREEN

My pride and joy - you know they are not kidding when they say Nothing Runs Like a Deere. Half the noise and vibration of my old mower and twice as fast.

I have about 4 acres to do up to twice a week in the full season and I need a quality machine - this is it. So well put together and easy to service.

PS isn't the light amazing at this time of year? This is the first sun that we have had for weeks. Look at how the green of the grass, the red of the soil and the blue of the sky meet in a chromatic chord - the beauty just takes my breath away - God I love it here.
