Am I missing something? If I pay my ticket within a week, it costs me only $5.00 That I know is true and I am thankful.
So I go online to pay and find out that if I do this they will charge me $25.
So instead I will drive into town and pay $5 across the counter.
Of course I went to the Townsquare site to pay the ticket - this is where you are instructed to go on the back of the Ticket. I found that after investing $3.3 million in this little boondoggle, that it has been closed for lack of funds!!!!!! It was all part of an embarrassing bit of pork called Smart Communities. The whole thing could be been built for maybe $25,000 and have worked. My little blog gets tons more traffic than this turkey ever did. It costs me less than $20 a month. I am not even sure that $3.3 million was the total - the original deal was for $5.0 million.
How would it have been possible to spend $5.0 million on a website? Again - how can anyone spend $5.0 on a little site that had next to no functionality and no traffic.
By the way did anyone ever ask where all this money went? Why is there never any accountability for this type of waste?
