Toronto Island residents got a huge nightclub that kept them awake all summer finally closed after 10 years of hell.
Of course the Club - the Docks, made the case for all its jobs and taxes. But in the end, the interests of people who live near the club, on the Island, held sway.
Having spent two summers just up the road from Peakes, I fear that the residents are no closer to having their need of sleeping and preserving their property values met. I recall going down one night at about 2am where I found two policemen watching the "fun". Why cant you get them to be quite, I naively asked. They laughed at me
