Here is a late night at CSI
Here is work at CSIThe Centre for Social Innovation is a community hub for social innovators. In addition to hosting and facilitating workshops and events to support Toronto’s social mission sector, the Centre for Social Innovation operates a collocation facility at 215 Spadina Avenue, Suite 120. This facility offers a variety of tenants from different sectors - social, environmental and cultural – the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment while keeping costs low through shared services and amenities. The Centre for Social Innovation has been designed to reduce an organization’s overall administration and overhead costs by sharing space with like-minded social innovators.
The Centre for Social Innovation also rents its meeting space and offers virtual support services to interested social innovators and social mission organizations. Contact us today for more information.
About the Robertson Building
Located at 215 Spadina Avenue, between Dundas and Queen, the Robertson Building features 12 ft ceilings, large windows and beautiful wooden pillars throughout. Styled similar to the 401 Richmond building, it promises to be a creative and inspired space. The main entrance’s ‘living wall’ is the first of many innovative elements. The Robertson Building is home to Roots of Empathy, Eva’s Initiative, Cuppa Coffee Animation, Oxfam and the Theatre Alliance.
Office Space
The Centre for Social Innovation occupies nearly 6000 sq ft on the first floor of the Robertson Building and is wheelchair accessible. The basic offering is an enclosed office with a window, glass walls and a door. Each office can comfortably accommodate 2-3 people. Each office is between 100 and 300 sq ft. Some offices include external desks for use by additional staff or visitors when necessary.
Board Room
A large boardroom is available to tenants and to outside organizations. In order to accommodate a wide range of events, the Centre for Social Innovation’s boardroom transform easily into theatre style seating accommodating up to 80 people. The space can also transform into four medium sized meeting rooms.
Kitchen
The Centre for Social Innovation features a modest kitchen that can support both the tenants as well as the various events that will occur within the space.
Shared Amenities
Tenants share use of the photocopier, fax machine, Internet access, telephone services, etc.
Desk Only Rentals
The Centre for Social Innovation also offers short-term and long-term desk rentals that come equipped with a desk, telephone use, Internet access and access to the meeting rooms.
Virtual Tenancy
Building on the infrastructure of CSI, virtual tenancy provides emergent and small organizations with basic office services as well as access to our community and collaborative programming. If you are a social mission project that is looking for community, camaraderie and profile – as well as a place to hold meetings, receive mail and access office infrastructure – virtual tenancy might be for you.
Nonprofit Library Network
The Centre for Social Innovation is a knowledge hub for its tenants and for the broader social mission community. As part of the Nonprofit Library Network, CSI houses a community collection of books and research publications, as well as a link to Canada’s most comprehensive virtual library of e-resources on the nonprofit and charitable sector.
The Nonprofit Library Network brings together The Imagine Canada – John Hodgson Library and the Centre for Social Innovation with partners across Ontario to provide information, resources and training to support the successful delivery of their service, outreach and fundraising programs.
Visit the Nonprofit Library Commons for more information. The Nonprofit Library Network is generously supported by the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
