Sue is the designer of all the lovely headers for Trusted Space. I met her when a group of us were bidding on a job. The job sucked and we did not get it - thank God. But the group was great and Sue did amazing work. She was exceptionally imaginative and FAST!!!!
So when I decided that I wanted to build trusted Space, I thought of her. We talked for an hour once a week for a month on what I meant by Trusted Space. As we talked, a picture began to emerge. By talking with her, I became more clear. Working with Sue is Not just about "Get a picture" fast. She is a true collaborator. She has been a major influence on shaping the ideas - that is the type of artist that she is.
We knew after a while that the Fibonacci curve would play a role in the design.
Then, one day she told me that she might have something that I might like and sent me this.
I loved it - it showed me how the curve was derived and it showed me the link to its expression.
Then it was a quick jump to the header design
We had a look - that was consistent but flexible
Here is how we will express it in the Garden Shed that will contain the tools that I have found to help a lot in understanding, seeing and working on a cultural landscape:-
So - if you need a real design partner - think of Sue. She also has a show here:
Stone Gardens
February 5 - 28, 2007
Georges Goguen Gallery
CBC Building, 250 University Ave.
Moncton, New Brunswick
Stone
Gardens is an installation conceived by Sackville artist, Sue Rose.
Nineteen concrete and stone bowls supported by birch tripods will be placed
throughout the gallery, birch branches will be hung
against
the wall and draped with a translucent fabric. Several friends have been asked
to take a bowl and enjoy transforming that individual space. We hope visitors
will enjoy these imaginative works, individually and as a
whole.
