Many feel that I am very pessimistic. I am about what confronts us and even more so about what we can expect from government.
Those who know me personally know that I am naturally upbeat and optimistic. I have my blue days but my core orientation is positive.
What I am optimistic about is that I know that if we see that working with each other rather than merely waiting helplessly for government to help us is our best course of action, then we will find ways of getting through all of what is to come.
I am not optimistic about this simply because I am hopeful, but because I have been working with a Public TV station, KETC in St Louis, that is proving that this can be done. I am hopeful because others have seen that this is true and are prepared to do the same.
