More here from other countries - It's amazing how factory made processed food has taken over our dinner table. Even in my own lifetime this has been a revolution. Back in the 50's and 60's in England, super markets were a novelty. We bought all our food in its natural state from Green Grocers, Fish Mongers and Butchers. They even delivered! Real food was cooked.
I say this to make this point - if in a lifetime we can change how we eat - surely we can change again?
If we do ONE THING to help our health - it would be to stop eating processed food.
That of course means that someone has to cook. That is a problem now because few people know how to cook anymore. Look at the food above - all it needs is to be is heated. There is little cooking going on in many expensively equipped kitchens today. A skill that made us human is being lost.
I now find all the work I do in the kitchen a joy - even the washing up - a gift to my hard working wife. Our food nourishes us and so the process of making it is an enjoyable and social part of our day.
How we think about things is our reality - if you see good food as the key to your health and cooking together as part of who you are as a family - the chore goes away.
